In this age of spell-check there is no excuse for bad spelling. Good communication will get you places in the world. There are certain spelling cases that we can do without. Words like "trough" "knight" "one", etc. that are not consistent with spelling rules need to be permanently corrected. They are based on an archaic spelling convention that has no relevance today.
