Beware the Social Media Guru

I’ve developed Social Media Guru Fatigue. Those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach. Those who can’t do either become gurus.

OK, maybe that’s a little harsh, but come on. People who claim to be expert in something where the rules change almost on a weekly basis and “best practices” are non-existent are highly suspect in my book. And anyone who claims to be a “guru” in anything automatically earns my scorn.

Before you buy the farm from one of these self-styled geniuses, read this recent piece by Robert Strohmeyer. He’s got these guys pegged.
