The Alzheimer’s Project

by Dan Hutson on May 7, 2009

This is a little off topic, but HBO is screening a four-part documentary series on Alzheimer’s disease and the search for a cure beginning May 10.  Alzheimer’s affects more than 5 million Americans, a number that could soar as the baby-boom generation ages into retirement.

I think anyone who has seen firsthand how this disease destroys loved ones would agree that any communication that creates greater awareness and understanding of Alzheimer’s is a good thing.

As an extension of the release, HBO is encouraging free screenings of the series through various national organizations and their local chapters. Here’s the list of local screenings open to the public.
