I’m always in the process of shuffling the deck of my RSS feeds, trying to make sure they’re providing me with a good overview of what’s going on out there in the blogosphere on subjects of interest to me. This means adding feeds that others bring to my attention through their posts and tweets, dropping others that don’t live up to my initial expectations, adding still others as new issues take the forefront.
As my feeds list grows, it becomes more difficult to stay on top of it. I’m probably not alone in the sense that it’s all a raging flow of info that either threatens to drown me or rush on by with important stuff I can’t afford to miss. I can be a little anal about it.
Managing your feeds in a time-efficient manner is critical if RSS is going to be a useful tool. Mike Sansone over at ConverStations has an approach that pretty much mirrors my own, so I won’t restate it here. Go check out what Mike has to say.

I know what you mean. Taking a systematic approach to reviewing my feeds has enabled me to spend less time, absorb more info and pass along more of what I find of value through PtB, Twitter and Facebook. I’m working on some pillar content of my own to really deepen this site with respect to its mission, but there’s so much great content to share out there that I put on my “managing editor” hat and try to increase its dissemination.
